Role
The Senior Business Strategy Specialist will work closely with our Senior Director, Business Strategy, on projects to enhance Waterworks’ processes across multiple functions of business to support growth. The Senior Specialist will have exposure to and develop a strong understanding of current workflows and processes for assigned projects and initiatives and use those insights to identify opportunities and solutions for improvements. The right candidate will approach the role with a mindset for learning and understanding how the business operates today in order to collaboratively drive meaningful, scalable enhancements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build a comprehensive understanding of the Waterworks business model, including strategy, supply chain, operations, accounting, finance, and sales.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of internal teams and processes to effectively support improvement projects and key business initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Strategy team and cross-functional partners to identify, map, and implement process improvement opportunities.
  • Communicate and coordinate with external partners as needed to ensure successful execution of company initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support and project-manage international business development activities.
  • Work closely with the Strategy team and international sales and operations teams to advance global growth and streamline processes.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at generating new revenue streams in untapped U.S. markets.
  • Support sales leaders on projects designed to optimize performance within existing U.S. markets.
  • Leverage data and analytics to inform recommendations and drive business decisions.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and materials for stakeholders at all levels to support effective decision-making.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned in support of the broader Strategy function.
  • Requirements


  • College degree and advanced degree required
  • 8+ years corporate and project management experience
  • Analytical mindset to deal with complex and ambiguous problems
  • o Develop structure/framework for analysis
  • o Conduct analysis using data/facts were available
  • o Develop creative solutions and create concise and convincing presentations to convey recommendations
  • Ability to conduct primary and secondary research as needed to support projects
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and working level knowledge of SmartSheet and Business Objects (or other BI tools to create adhoc reports)
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and follow-through
  • Works collaboratively and builds relationships with cross functional partners
  • This role requires presence in Corporate office a minimum of 3 days per week
  • Travel up to 30%
