The Director of Marketing at the Florida Veterinary Medical Association (FVMA) is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance the Association's visibility and strengthen its market position within the veterinary community. This role entails overseeing all marketing initiatives, campaigns, and programs aimed at increasing member engagement, promoting events, and fostering the growth of the Association’s services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic marketing plan aimed at increasing awareness and participation in FVMA programs and events.
- Lead and manage the marketing team to execute marketing campaigns effectively, ensuring alignment with the organization's objectives.
- Oversee the design and production of marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters, digital content, and promotional items.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive messaging and branding across all platforms and mediums.
- Track and analyze market trends, member feedback, and performance metrics to refine strategies and improve engagement.
- Manage the marketing budget and allocate resources effectively to maximize return on investment for campaigns.
- Build and maintain relationships with media contacts, partners, and stakeholders to enhance the Association’s public image.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards in marketing practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field required
- Minimum of 6 – 8 years of related professional experience
- Non-profit experience preferred but not required
- Comprehensive communications experience that includes a blend of awareness, reputation management, and advocacy
- Proven ability to conceptualize and create communications plans and campaigns
- Thorough understanding of data-driven marketing strategies to include, but not limited to, paid advertisements on social, Google Ads, and other platforms, email marketing campaigns, and direct mail campaigns to drive conversions
- Excellent writing ability and editing skills, including experience in writing press releases, reports, articles, op-ed pieces, and advertisements
- Knowledge of photo-editing, electronic production, including visual and audio, and the rudiments of design and publishing, familiarity with local and national media, web pages, and social media trends
- Understanding of SEO, including webpage/website keywords, meta descriptions, URLs, page titles, and more
- Experience with the handling of sensitive and confidential issues
- Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Able to give and receive constructive feedback
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in non-profit or veterinary associations or similar environments is a plus.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, social media, and content marketing.
- Proven ability to develop and track marketing metrics and ROI.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Creative and strategic thinker with a passion for enhancing the veterinary profession.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in marketing software and tools, including CRM systems, email marketing platforms, and graphic design software.
- Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changes in the marketing landscape.
