JOB TITLE SUMMARY
Job Title: Lead Office Assistant, Residential Life, Student Employee
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 20 hours per week
Job Week Assignment: 40 weeks per year
Rate of Pay: $14.00 per hour
Work Cycle: August 1st through May 31st
This application is open to Federal Work Study (FWS)-eligible students as well as non-FWS students. Fifty percent of the available positions are reserved for FWS students.
Job Summary
The Residential Life lead office assistant, student employee is responsible for assisting Residential Life staff with the management of residential hall genius hubs, including coordinating daily operations, promoting student engagement and development, and ensuring accountability of genius hub staff.
Essential Job Functions and Performance Indicators

Job Responsibilities
- Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
- Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University’s values
- Assists with student check-in and check-out according to established procedures
- Assists with managing daily schedules for genius hub staff including shift changes
- Supports the daily operations of the main Residential Life office and related administrative functions
- Assists in building rosters and coordinating room changes
- Assists in the creation of Residential Hall Association proposals
- Ensures completion of building maintenance and inventory
- Maintains office hours to meet with residents
- Assists with training and interview processes
- Refers students experiencing emotional, academic, or other hardships to appropriate resources
- Attends residence hall events and engages with residents
- Understands University procedures and offers appropriate referral resources in order to effectively respond to student questions/concerns
- Attends scheduled Residential Life meetings and assists in leading genius hub staff meetings
- Collaborates with appropriate staff to resolve maintenance, furniture inventory, and safety issues
- Helps facilitate the planning and execution of annual Residential Life events and related processes
- Maintains an accurate and complete inventory of genius hub supplies
- Assists department staff with maintaining accountability by providing additional oversight for office assistant positions
- Assists department staff with the mediation of residential issues
- Understands, supports, and enforces University policies
- Reports and assists with responding to policy violations
Job may require other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications – An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
- Currently enrolled at Lindenwood University
- Primary residence in campus housing
- Good academic and financial standing with the University
- Related residential life experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – May be representative, but not all inclusive, of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform this job competently.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Effective communication skills
- Proficiency in the use of web portals and software management tools
