Position: Facilities Management Specialist Sr.
Location: Atrium Health - Carolinas Medical Center; 1000 Blythe Blvd., Charlotte, NC.
Full Time; 1st Shift
~Hours: Typically 8am-5pm, but due to the nature of projects/infrastructure other times are required.
Major Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and ensure program compliance for the Facility Condition Assessment program for Facilities.
- Maintain comprehensive facility condition audits of buildings, grounds, fixed equipment, and infrastructure needs;
- Provide leadership and direction within Facilities for Energy and Sustainability initiatives while working with peer functions to assure goals are achieved;
- Supervise the development and consistent implementation of Energy policies and procedures for Advocate.
- Enhance operational energy efficiencies, perform root cause analyses, develop solutions/recommendations to improve, track and document actions taken to demonstrate improvements.
- Develop and implement an infrastructure Capacity Management program to continuously assess and monitor existing conditions and make recommendations to fund projects ahead of shortfalls.
- Works cooperatively with other enterprise departments and divisions. Assures effective communications occur between their departments and others withing the enterprise.
- Develop and submit reports of survey assessment findings and recommendations and assists in identifying and implementing corrective actions;
- Regularly and periodically, conduct physical environment rounds for Advocate accredited facilities. Represent Advocate Facilities through community and professional organizations.
- Implement and oversee special projects as directed by the Facilities leadership.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, or related discipline required.
- Professional licensure or master's degree preferred.
Work Experience
- Five years as facilities professional in a healthcare setting, OR five years' experience in process improvement and consulting for healthcare or healthcare related industry required.
- Familiarity required with TJC Environment of Care and/or DNV, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NFPA 99 Health Care Facilities Code, and OSHA Requirements for General Industry.
- Familiarity with Licensure Requirements preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be competent working with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Solid understanding of all relevant regulatory codes, environmental compliance, energy management, computerized maintenance management systems, industry safety requirements and best practices, and healthcare accreditation standards.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Exposed to a normal office environment.
