SUMMARY

The VP, Strategic Technologies is responsible for ownership of selected technology platforms that are core to the Bank’s digital transformation strategy and represent major financial and cultural investments. This highly visible role will drive the transition of Main Street Bank from a traditional, consumer product-oriented community institution to a tech-forward, diversified, scalable, and sustainable community-focused commercial bank. In collaboration with the CIO, remaining Innovation Initiatives team, the SVP - Director of Technology, SVP - Marketing & Digital, Bank senior leadership, business users from all business lines, and external partners, the work of the incumbent will have a global impact on the organization.

 

Developing and executing on the continuous improvement strategy for Main Street Bank’s Salesforce org(s), as well as its use of Marketing Cloud marketing automation suite and MuleSoft integration layer, using internal and external resources, represent the role’s core initial responsibilities. The role will at times require the incumbent to personally complete complex administrative, architectural, and development tasks required for the maintenance and development of Salesforce Financial Services Cloud. Marketing Cloud and MuleSoft maintenance and development tasks may require coordination of internal and external subject matter experts.

 

As these products’ success justifies further resource allocation, the incumbent will be responsible for building a team of professionals including, but not limited to, administrators, business analysts, and developers. As business needs dictate, the incumbent will also play a key role in the onboarding or development of new technology platforms for internal or external use and may assist with or lead the development of selected products or services.

 

Beyond relevant technical knowledge, this position requires leadership skills, management and teambuilding experience, as well as an in-depth understanding of the banking business and Main Street Bank’s position in the market along with its strength and opportunities for growth and improvement. While extensive Salesforce experience is imperative, experience with other industry-leading technology platforms, data analytics tools, programming languages, and technology training techniques are all assets and development of some or all of these skillsets may be required as the role evolves.

Owner of Salesforce and Related Platforms

  • Day-to-day owner of the Bank’s Salesforce org(s) along with all related technology platforms, including, but not limited to, Marketing Cloud, MuleSoft, Copado, and any other platforms which may be added in the future.
  • Coordinates all internal and external resources related to the administration, maintenance, incremental improvement, and future development of the Bank’s Salesforce org(s).
  • As business needs dictate and success of the platform justifies, builds and manages a team consisting of resources that may include system administrators, business analysts, solution architects, and/or developers to support the Bank’s Salesforce strategy.
  • Hands-on administrative, architectural, and development tasks require experience of a wide range of Salesforce skillsets including advanced administration tasks, custom code, and Lightning Web Components, among others.

 

Digital Transformation & Process Improvement

  • Driver of digital transformation throughout the organization who pushes teams across sales and service functions to rethink processes and embrace more efficient workflows using Salesforce and other applicable internal tools.
  • Takes the lead in identifying opportunities for improvement and leverages appropriate process automation, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies while understanding the risks involved, working with leadership to address them, and continuous monitoring of results.
  • Participate in a change management team which works with business leaders throughout the organization to assess business problems, determine the most effective solution, achieve buy-in at all levels, and implement changes.
  • Owns directly or oversees team members in the ownership of mission critical platforms and vendors and works closely with platform owners to ensure continuous improvement and steady progress towards transformation objectives.

  • Participates in developing and executing the strategic plan to meet the bank’s overall competitive position within the financial services industry. 
  • Works independently along all staff levels and with complex and proprietary information.
  • Influence as subject matter expert to help guide the leadership team in the Bank’s technology, data, digital transformation, and innovation strategies.

  • Smartphone: Needed to enable the MFA (Multi Factor Authentication) for desktop access to MSB systems as well as device management software for access to MSB chat and email applications on mobile device

HYBRID/REMOTE ENVIRONMENT:

 

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data analytics, business administration, finance, or relevant educational experience, or equivalent work experience
  • M.S. in technology- or data-related field, MBA, and/or other relevant post-graduate educational experience, or other equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Technical certifications relating to administration, architecture, and/or development of Salesforce or other related platforms, such as Copado, preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in roles of progressively increasing responsibility revolving around the administration, architecture, and development in Salesforce
  • Experience managing teams of skilled technical resources in areas such as system administration, platform architecture, software development, data analytics, business analysis, and/or other relevant technical specializations
  • Experience using and/or overseeing the implementation, use, and administration of Salesforce Financial Services Cloud, MuleSoft, Marketing Cloud, Own Backup & Recovery, Copado, Microsoft Power Platform, 365 Suite (specifically Excel and Access), COCC Insight/Fiserv DNA core banking platform, Abrigo Sageworks commercial loan origination platform, EllieMae Encompass residential loan origination platform, COCC Loan Writer, and/or Paycom
  • Knowledge of relevant development methodologies, such as Waterfall, Agile, and/or Scrum, and understanding of data modeling and analytics techniques are required
  • Working proficiency in programming languages that support the Bank’s platform development and/or data analytics goals are an asset but not a requirement
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce and related platforms and ability effectively manage a team of Salesforce administrators and developers in a context where the platform is increasingly used beyond traditional customer relationship management (CRM) capabilities
  • Experience managing projects, implementing technology platforms, evaluating project success, taking corrective action to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget, and effectively managing specialists and subject matter experts in handing day-to-day project tasks
  • Solid understanding and application of administration activities with an understanding of standard office applications and procedures and ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Regardless of primary location, ability to travel periodically to MSB locations, client sites, and industry conferences, which may be held nationally
