Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe is seeking a dedicated and hands-on Youth Program Supervisor to oversee the daily operations and staff of our After School and Summer Youth Programs. This is an incredible opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of Tribal youth by providing a safe, nurturing, and culturally enriching environment.
This is a Full-Time, Benefited position with hours of 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
The Role: A Hands-On Leadership Opportunity
As the Youth Program Supervisor, you'll be the key leader in our program, ensuring high-quality, culturally grounded programming is delivered daily. You will be responsible for direct supervision of staff and activities while actively participating in day-to-day youth engagement.
Key Responsibilities Include:

Staff and Program Supervision: Provide day-to-day oversight of After School and Summer Youth Program staff, including training new hires, managing schedules, delegating tasks, and conducting annual performance evaluations.

Youth Engagement and Support: Lead and participate in activities such as homework support, recreation, cultural lessons, and prevention education (including gambling, tobacco, and substance use prevention).

Curriculum Development: Assist with planning and implementing culturally appropriate curriculum focused on prevention, positive self-esteem, community needs, and S’Klallam culture (songs, dances, language).

Safety and Compliance: Ensure child safety and engagement, maintain updated safety policies, manage individual behavior plans, and ensure compliance with CCDF Funding and Tribal licensing standards.

Cultural and Outdoor Focus: Prioritize outdoor learning environments (including hiking and exploring S’Klallam territory), emphasize nutrition and traditional food choices, and coordinate attendance at important cultural events like Canoe Journey Protocol.

Administration and Communication: Maintain trust with children and families through open communication, manage transportation, coordinate building maintenance, and assist with grant reporting and data coordination.
Requirements:

Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, or Early Childhood Development certification.

Extensive experience working or supervising in preschool, school, or childcare settings, with a strong ability to manage classrooms and lead group activities.

Understanding of basic nutrition education and ability to incorporate healthy habits into daily routines.

Comfort and enthusiasm for outdoor activities and nature-based learning experiences.

Strong understanding of early learning principles, including child development and social-emotional growth.

Knowledge of Indian culture and tribal communities.

Willingness to collaborate with management and follow leaderships vision for Tribal programs.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage client relationships and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.

Self-motivated with strong time management and people skills, contributing positively to a collaborative work environment.

Protect and maintain client confidentiality.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, including Microsoft Teams.

Valid driver’s license.

Must obtain and keep on file First Aid, CPR and Food Handlers card.

Ability to work with other state, federal, and local service agencies and governments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood.
- Effective time management, decision-making, and problem solving skills.
- American Indian/Alaska Native preferences apply.
