The role focuses on developing and implementing the sub-section's marketing and business development strategies. This includes leading the preparation of client pitches and capability statements in collaboration with partners; liaising with business development (BD) professionals across Industries and Sections to identify opportunities in EMEA Structured Credit and Derivatives (SC&D) sub-section; and managing practice materials, events, and thought leadership. Additionally, the position oversees communications, press releases, directory submissions, and awards.
Working within the EMEA Capital Markets Business Development team, this role will be to support the EMEA Structured Credit and Derivatives partners within the broader Capital Markets practice, to assist with a range of marketing activities including pitches.

As an associate joining our practice, you will be given responsibility for a wide range of important tasks for our firm’s clients. Responsibilities will vary from matter to matter, but, generally speaking, we are seeking an associate with the experience, intelligence and proactive drive to serve as a key associate on matters. In that role, the ideal candidate will supervise legal research, manage certain aspects of discovery, and play an important role in deposition discovery, expert witness preparation, and contested court hearings and trials, among other tasks. We are looking for a go-getter who can succeed within the context of a team of lawyers and support staff, and interact professionally with judges, opposing counsel and clients.

Key Responsibilities
- Working with partners to help develop and implement the sub-section’s marketing strategy and related BD initiatives
- Enhancing visibility of the firm's SC&D expertise, collaborating with partners and associates
- Partnering with Marketing Communications to deliver thought leadership, strengthening the firm's reputation and client engagement
- Managing directory submissions (Legal 500 and Chambers), awards nominations and league table entries, including by preparing the initial drafts for review by the partners
- Managing and driving the preparation of pitches, capability statements and other client presentation materials, working in collaboration with partners
- Liaising with BD professionals in other Sections and Industry Groups to identify opportunities for EMEA SF&D practices
- Helping to organise conferences, events and thought leadership campaign
- Managing the process for press releases, brochures and other communications (external and internal)
- Managing CRM and other marketing technology tools
Qualifications and Skills
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, with a record of business development experience in a professional services firm or financial institution, preferably with related business development expertise.
- Responsive, proactive, resilient, and highly organised, demonstrating a positive attitude and effectiveness with peers and professionals at all levels.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proven track record of project management, including delivery of pitches.
- Sound knowledge of relevant practice areas.
- Proficient in systems and database management, including experience systems, CRM applications, AI tools, and Microsoft Office.
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Able to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Location and Reporting
This role is based in London, and reports to the EMEA Structed Credit and Derivatives Partners and the Associate Director, Business Development – EMEA Capital Markets.
Our standard office hours are 09:30-18:00, with a current requirement for 3 days in the office per week.
