About the Department

This is professional and strategic work in preparing the jurisdiction to respond and adapt to emergencies through collaborative planning, interagency coordination, innovative recovery solutions, and the strategic use of resources to promote resilience. 

Position Duties

Minimum Qualification Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a coursework emphasis in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Community Resilience, Public Policy, or a related field, and one year of experience dedicated to emergency planning, hazard mitigation project development and management, or governmental disaster recovery. 

Special Requirement: 

Special Requirements:   A minimum of 100 hours of formal training in emergency management, hazard mitigation, and/or disaster recovery.
