This role will require up to 10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

CAREERS THAT CHANGE LIVES

As a Principal IT Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing and deploying our IT solution, mService, which supports repair and logistical processes for medical equipment in hospitals. Partnering with business stakeholders, you will assess, design, and develop solution enhancements to drive innovation & operational excellence. Your key tasks include:

  • Lead business requirement discussions, gathering, evaluating, and documenting business needs. Translate requirements into functional specifications and business process maps for complex solution changes.
  • Participate in project and design reviews to ensure solutions align with Medtronic Global IT policies, principles, and standards.
  • Drive changes and enhancements through the change management process, including change coordination, stakeholder communication, functional unit testing, user acceptance testing, cutover planning, and hypercare support.
  • Coordinate development and support activities with external partners.
  • Build and maintain a centralized knowledge repository for process and solution documentation.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Service & Repair IT leadership team.
  • Provide 3rd level support for functional SAP-related issues by analysing escalated software concerns and recommending effective solutions.
  • Collaborate within projects across an international, diverse, and challenging environment.

MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and 12+ years of experience

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience or advanced degree and 5+ years of experience

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Strongly Preferred:
    • Previous Medtronic experience
    • Hands-on experience with IT Business Analysis methodologies and tools
    • Direct configuration experience with SAP Sales & Distribution and Customer Service modules
    • Practical experience in WebMethods interface design and implementation
    • Deep understanding of Service, Sales, and Logistical business processes
    • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive consensus among stakeholders
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering innovative solutions to complex business challenges
  • Experience working in both Waterfall and Agile delivery environments
  • Background in highly regulated and validated environments
  • Experience implementing SAP S/4HANA
  • Professional experience in the corporate MedTech industry
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in easily understandable terms
  • Experience with digital transformation initiatives and integrating emerging technologies (e.g., IoT, AI, cloud solutions) within business processes
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance standards (e.g. HIPAA, GDPR)

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$112,800.00 - $169,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
