Storeroom Assistant
BASIC FUNCTION
Pull/Pack & oversee the supplying and staging of materials for all the plant departments and field crews. Ensures that materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety standards and procedures.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Storeroom Supervisor
Supervises:
No supervisory responsibilities.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Distribute tools & equipment to production personnel and enter charge outs into daily material requisitions. May do the same for other warehouses.
• Keep inventory status on Welding Gases.
• Manages the rotation of inventory within the storeroom.
• Produces purchase requisitions as inventory levels decrease.
• Manages documentation relating to all disposals.
• Prepares for the shipping of items to various job sites, packing & skidding of products, tracks shipments, and reports progress to PM.
• Receives materials and processes the receiving paperwork daily, and computer skills is a must.
• Data entry of received and shipped items.
• Charges out all materials and supplies per job in Sage inventory system and run reports.
• Prints barcode labels and maintain computerized information.
• Verifies drawings for size and count requirements and communicates discrepancies with Engineering Department.
• Cycle count and year end counting of inventory.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING
High School diploma or general education degree; or one to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, sketches, shipping lists, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with team supervisor and other team members.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Mathematical Skills: Basic skills: Ability to read a tape measure. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of an ERP System is a plus.
REASONING ABILITY
Basic skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Counting, color identification, part identification, and ability to be certified on a fork truck. Ability to read and understand blueprints.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a valid driver's license.
