About the role
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented, and people-focused HR Manager to lead and support our human resources operations. This role is responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and fostering a positive, performance-driven workplace. The ideal candidate will bring experience in payroll, benefits administration, recruitment, and employee relations, and will serve as a trusted partner to both leadership and team members.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-line HR support to managers and employees in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage weekly payroll processing in coordination with our payroll provider, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Partner with General Managers and Department Managers to verify and correct time reporting.
- Lead recruitment efforts, including job postings, interviews, and hiring of qualified candidates.
- Oversee onboarding for new hires, including documentation, payroll setup, and system access.
- Ensure compliance with 401(k) contributions and coordinate with plan administrators.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and files.
- Administer employee benefits programs and communicate updates clearly.
- Support General Managers in managing workers’ compensation claims and documentation.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR standard operating procedures and the employee handbook.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Manage the offboarding process, including final pay and exit documentation.
- Support performance management and evaluation processes.
- Partner with the Safety Committee to ensure compliance and proper recordkeeping.
- Prepare HR metrics and reports for leadership.
- Coordinate company-sponsored events and employee engagement activities.
- Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proficiency in payroll systems; ADP experience strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of employment laws and compliance standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- High level of professionalism, flexibility, and collaboration; comfortable working closely with senior leadership.
