Highways and Transport - Driving the Future

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to support the performance and compliance of our Fleet Service. You will work closely with the Senior Compliance Officer to ensure our vehicles and drivers meet legal, regulatory, and best practice standards. This includes producing reports and dashboards, as well as managing records for driver and vehicle licences, insurance, and permits.

You will support the development of fleet policies and systems, monitor compliance with HMRC rules and our Driving at Work policy, and provide advice on fleet strategy. You’ll be a key contact for fleet-related queries across the council and will help identify issues and suggest improvements.

To succeed in this role, you will need a qualification such as HNC or NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration or Data Analysis, or equivalent experience, along with strong ICT skills and experience using Microsoft Office and specialist fleet systems. You should have practical experience in fleet or transport management, or driving instruction and training, excellent attention to detail, and strong communication skills. You will be confident working independently, managing priorities, and explaining technical or legal matters clearly.

This is a great opportunity to make a real impact in a varied and rewarding role. If you’re passionate about data, compliance, and improving services, we’d love to hear from you.
