Description
Major Food Distributor located in Hunts Point Cooperative Market in the Bronx is looking for a Full-Time Manager of Warehouse Night Operations. The responsibility is to plan, direct, and administer all warehouse operations. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing the storage, pallet operation, receiving, cross-dock, shipping, and all other general operations of the warehouse while providing timely output of all merchandise
- Maintaining proper staffing levels to achieve 100% asset integrity on all shipments
- Addressing all product related issues impeding operations
- Monitoring safety & loss prevention practices, ensuring policies adherence
- Reviewing equipment needs to enhance productivity, while evaluating cost effectiveness
- Reviewing changes in distribution philosophies to increase operational efficiencies and striving for continuous improvement, while planning strategically for the future of the business
- Other duties as assigned
Work Environment:
- Warehouse environment
- Ability to work in cold environment
Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- 2 years of experience in a distribution environment
- Proficient in fundamentals of distribution management
- Excellent communication skills
- Bilingual (fluent in English & Spanish)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong warehousing, distribution and transportation knowledge is necessary
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in a distribution environment
