Are you passionate about creating a safer, more sustainable workplace? We’re looking for an EHS Generalist to join our team and support the implementation and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies across our Kent site. This role is key to ensuring compliance with legislation and internal standards while fostering a proactive EHS culture.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management
- Develop and maintain risk assessments for operational activities.
- Collaborate with teams to identify hazards and recommend controls.
- Maintain the site incident log and ensure it’s up to date.
Incident Management
- Support investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Assist in root cause analysis and tracking corrective actions.
- Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Audits and Inspections
- Conduct routine EHS inspections and internal audits.
- Maintain records and support external audits.
- Follow up on audit findings to ensure timely resolution.
Digital Systems & Reporting
- Manage data entry and reporting in digital EHS platforms.
- Generate monthly performance reports and monitor trends.
Training & Awareness
- Assist in developing and delivering EHS training.
- Support onboarding and maintain training records.
Policy & Procedure Development
- Help create and communicate EHS policies.
- Track inspection action plans to closure.
Emergency Preparedness
- Assist in emergency response planning and drills.
- Liaise with local emergency services as needed.
Environmental Management
- Monitor environmental KPIs (waste, energy, emissions).
- Promote sustainability initiatives and support compliance.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a point of contact for EHS queries.
- Deliver toolbox talks and build strong site relationships.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to travel to UK sites as needed.
- Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
Education & Experience
- NEBOSH qualification preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, ideally FMCG.
- Familiarity with risk assessments, incident investigations, and audits.
- Competent in digital EHS systems and Microsoft Office.
