Role:

To deliver the site’s Health, Safety & Environmental strategic vision in line with the Operational Strategic Pillars. To counsel, support, engage and encourage all levels of the teams to a proactive approach to Risk Management, whilst also challenging leaders in all HSE related aspects to ensure a Beyond Compliance performance in our pursuit of Zero Harm.

This role will involve working between our manufacturing facility in Loughborough, with visits to customer's sites across the country.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor safety programmes designed to improve behavioural safety.
  • Support Managers and Supervisors in accident investigations and near miss root cause elimination. Ensuring these are completed in a timely and thoroughly.
  • Support and conduct external audits and regulatory visits.
  • Work within the Advisor framework to ensure progression of site activities and legal requirements such as PUWER, Lifting Equipment, LOTO, DSEAR, First Aid etc.
  • Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety Regulations
  • Report legislative requirements such as RIDDOR
  • Complete all mandatory training.
  • Deliver the CGU HSE Strategy Plan
  • Deliver effective Toolbox Talks to inspire and inform.
  • Lead the HSE Ambassador Programme
  • Lead the Communication and Training plan
  • Coordinate site installation activities
  • Advise other people elements (home working, young persons, New & Expectant mothers, Wellbeing, PPE)

  • Conduct regular site visits to perform comprehensive health, safety, and environmental audits, ensuring compliance with company standards and legal requirements while engaging with site teams to drive continuous improvement
  • Work within the Advisor framework to ensure progression of site activities and legal requirements such as PUWER, Lifting Equipment, LOTO, DSEAR, First Aid etc.

Person:

  • GCSEs in Math & English at Grade C or Equivalent
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) or equivalent in Health & Safety.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or higher professional membership (TechIOSH or above).
  • CSCS White AQP Card (Academically Qualified Person) or ability to obtain prior to site access.
  • Previous experience working in Health, safety & Environmental construction topics would be desirable
