Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to support techUK's Justice and Emergency Services Programme as well as providing an opportunity to work collaboratively with other techUK programmes to grow out specific portfolios of work including, but not limited to; modern slavery, future prisons, border security and counter terrorism.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the development, implementation and communication of techUK activities to deliver value for member companies
 - Assist in co-managing the Security and Public Safety SME Forum in collaboration with the National Security Programme
 - Support the development, implementation and management of the programme's work in the law enforcement, fire and rescue, and justice sectors, developing expertise in areas such as emerging technology, law enforcement data challenges, victim support and more
 - Assist with the set-up and execution of in-person and virtual events, briefings and meetings
 - Promote techUK activities through written insights, social media engagement and PR activities
 - Coordinate with the team to bring new companies into techUK membership
 - Liaise with other techUK teams to identify collaboration opportunities
 - Facilitate the management of relevant techUK forums and working groups alongside the JES Programme Manager, maintaining liaison with group members
 - Deputise for the Justice and Emergency Services Programme Manager in their absence and any other duties that might from time to time be required by the Head of Programme and the techUK Justice and Emergency Services Team
 
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong interest in the use of technology in the Justice and Emergency Services sectors
 - Able to quickly build practical subject matter expertise
 - A self-motivated individual with a positive can-do approach who is comfortable working with competing demands and responding to tight deadlines
 - Good organisational skills and attention to detail
 - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical and policy information effectively to a range of audiences
 - A team player who can manage relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
 
- Good high-level knowledge of technology and workings of the technology sector
 - Understanding of the economic, social and political environment, members' business sectors and business models, stakeholders and their drivers
 - Awareness and experience of using the tools and technologies techUK provides; including but not limited to Microsoft Office, CRM, mobile and home working software, web tools and social media
