Blackstone Private Wealth was established to answer the growing demand for Blackstone products from high-net worth investors. Partnering with many of the world’s largest private banks and wealth management firms as well as family offices, Blackstone’s Private Wealth team packages and delivers the full breadth of Blackstone’s alternative product capability to these firms and their clients and provides ongoing product and advisor support, as well as education and training around alternatives. Private Wealth is focused on two objectives: diversifying the firm’s client base by serving clients within and raising capital from new channels and developing investment solutions for those channels by leveraging Blackstone’s leading franchises in Private Equity, Real Estate, Hedge Fund Solutions, Credit, and Tactical Opportunities. The group is globally positioned, with offices in New York, London, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Singapore, and
Hong Kong and works with many of the world’s largest wealth management institutions to raise capital for Blackstone.
Position Overview
Blackstone’s Private Wealth team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated External Wholesaler to lead business development efforts across the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario markets. This individual will be responsible for raising assets, deepening business relationships, and expanding Blackstone’s footprint within the high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth investor segment through financial advisors, family offices, and private banks.
The role requires a proven track record in investment sales, deep knowledge of alternative investments, and the ability to articulate Blackstone’s differentiated strategies to sophisticated investors and intermediaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales of Blackstone’s alternative investment products (private equity, private credit, real estate, hedge fund solutions) to financial advisors, RIAs, family offices, and private banks.
- Develop and execute a territory sales plan to achieve asset-raising targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key distribution partners and centers of influence.
- Partner closely with internal wholesalers to maximize coverage and service levels.
- ·Deliver compelling presentations and educational sessions on Blackstone’s strategies, market outlook, and portfolio construction benefits of alternatives.
- Stay current on market trends, regulatory changes, and the competitive landscape.
- Travel extensively across Toronto and assigned regions to meet with advisors and clients.
- Represent Blackstone at industry conferences, seminars, and client events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field
- 15+ years of external wholesaling or institutional sales experience, preferably in alternatives or private markets.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of alternative investments and portfolio construction.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Works well independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
