Job Summary: The Electrical Project Engineer will be the primary point on a variety of highly visible and critical projects for the organization. This position requires a high level of organization to lead team members in the development and production of deliverables that meet our high-quality standards. The Electrical Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, production, and ultimate successful completion of all assigned projects. They will oversee electrical scopes of work and will bring a blend of technical electrical expertise and project management experience.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in regular meetings with leadership to review progress, discuss concerns, and identify successes.
- Participate in project-specific planning, design, construction, and milestones through completion.
- Lead the project delivery by delegating technical/design tasks and coaching those involved.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor progress to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and successful project execution.
- Prepare and review engineering designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Lead QA/QC processes for projects and advise on necessary team-wide changes.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on reports, plans and specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and guidelines.
- Implement team specific project delivery processes such as work breakdown structures.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and experience through knowledge transfer to members of the team.
- Proactively communicate complex issues and solutions.
Qualifications:
- Degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of professional liability, quality procedures, and other engineering/technical skills.
- Highly proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Industry experience specific to construction, electrical codes, or equivalent knowledge.
- Experience with typical PM software tools, or equivalents, including Bluebeam Revu, Excel, AutoCAD, BIM360, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), MS Project, P6, Google Earth, Google Drive, MS Teams, and willingness to learn new and project-specific programs.
- Ability to break down construction operations into a logical sequence of activities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a professional and polished communication style to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, clients, and government agencies.
Physical Requirements and Working Environment:
- Ability to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, walk, stand; Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- This position requires in-person work.
- Professional, business casual office environment.
