Description

Job Purpose: Evaluate inventory performance by analyzing current stock levels, forecasting demand trends, and assessing external factors impacting inventory. Provide strategic recommendations to enhance inventory efficiency and support overall supply chain optimization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Inventory Analysis & Optimization
•    Analyze inventory flow, classification, and turnover to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement
•    Identify slow-moving and obsolete inventory and recommend appropriate disposition strategies
•    Develop forecasts of inventory levels and trends based on operational requirements and market conditions
•    Evaluate scrap rates and rework to determine their impact on inventory performance
•    Assess the effects of method or part substitutions on cash flow, inventory levels, and turnover
•    Recommend inventory objectives aligned with current business needs and market trends
Cost & Market Monitoring
•    Monitor inventory costs in relation to purchase prices and evolving business needs
•    Compare actual inventory levels to established goals and evaluate cost performance against standard costs and budgets
•    Analyze economic indicators and commodity price trends; chart and forecast future pricing
•    Estimate the impact of price fluctuations on inventory management and recommend control adjustments based on market dynamics
•    Assist with related financial reporting under GAAP and IFRS standards
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Systems Support
•    Collaborate with Finance to reconcile inventory discrepancies and support the development of inventory cost structures and cash flow analysis
•    Ensure accurate accounting of scrap flow and provide necessary input to maintain reliable system reporting
•    Partner with Purchasing, Compliance, and Product Management teams to create and maintain part numbers and related data within the ERP system
Inventory Control & Physical Audits
•    Recommend optimal inventory location strategies and organizational structures
•    Conduct periodic cycle counts in coordination with warehouse personnel to ensure inventory accuracy
Other
•    Actively maintain and participate in professional development through education, publications, networking, and contributions to industry organizations
•    Complete assigned tasks and required paperwork accurately and on time
•    Ensure regular and timely attendance to maintain workflow continuity
•    Maintain a clean and organized work area
•    Complete other tasks assigned by supervisor or management
•    Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

Education   4 Year Degree

Required Experience & Skills

•    Two to three years of experience in business analysis within industry, consulting, or public accounting environments
•    Proficient in the use of computer applications for empirical research and data analysis
•    Demonstrated experience in statistical methods and analysis.
•    Strong interpersonal skills; friendly, approachable, motivated, with a strong work ethic and integrity 
•    Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and prioritize responsibilities 
•    Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel 
•    Effective use of electronic communication tools (email, phone systems, etc.)
•    Fluent in spoken and written English with strong communication skills
•    Demonstrate flexibility by supporting critical operations during extended hours, special projects, and peak periods as needed

Preferred Experience & Skills

•    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline
•    Relevant experience in cost accounting, operations management or management information systems
