Onsite – Buffalo, NYMoog Space and Defense Group is looking for an Associate Mechanical Design Engineer, to contribute to the design, analysis, development and testing of complex control systems used on space exploration, military, and commercial applications. You’ll be responsible for the development of complex space avionics, actuation and mechanisms, propulsion, power, structures, and shock & vibration control. This position requires a high degree of foresight and creativity to anticipate and solve unprecedented engineering problems.
As our Mechanical Associate Design Engineer, you will make critical contributions by holding responsibility for:
The design of new and support of existing products, components, or assemblies by applying engineering principles to develop products that meet customer technical/functional specifications
Contribute to the preparation of successful proposal designs, cost estimates, and technical write ups and reports.
Ensuring that standards of quality, cost, safety, reliability, timeliness, and performance are met in production processes
Review and interpret drawings and specifications using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Conducting mathematical modelling to determine if proposed designs are technically feasible
Periodically interface with customers/vendors, providing project updates and production support
To be considered for this Mechanical Associate Design Engineer role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required
0-2 years of mechanical/design engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Requires a solid understanding of engineering principles, theories, and concepts
It would be a plus if you also had:
Experience in the development of mechanical assemblies or control systems
Experience in the Aerospace industry
Experience with CAD, modelling, and analysis tools (Siemens NX, Teamcenter, ANSYS, Matlab, etc)
Master’s Degree in Engineering
This position also requires the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Salary Range Transparency:
Buffalo, NY $70,000.00–$90,000.00 AnnuallySalary Range Disclaimer
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
