The right Hospitality Management Intern checklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.

 

The Hospitality Management Intern is responsible for working with the Operations Management team in the day-to-day operations of all aspects of Operations, including the following: Admissions, Attractions, Transportation/Parking, and Grounds.

 

Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated, and accountable.

 

Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Perform Front Line duties including, but not limited to: Ticketing Host, Attractions Host, Transportation/Parking Host, Grounds Host, etc
  • Participate in Safety, Management, and Team Lead meetings
  • Learn scheduling procedures and applicable State/Federal regulations
  • Learn timekeeping procedures and accompanying Human Resources policies
  • Learn performance review procedures.
  • Assist with written communications, including the development of new communication methods
  • Assist with creating and implementing improvements in safety, guest excellence, profit contribution, and job satisfaction
  • Assist the Operations Management team with various tasks

 

Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any time.

 

Education and Experience Required  

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college degree program in a related field
  • Basic computer skills with proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of personal liability insurance according to state law
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check including motor vehicle

  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance
  • Able to sit and/or stand for long/short periods
