Position Duties

The Finance clerk reports directly to the Accounts Payable Supervisor. This position sorts and mails checks and remittances, handles returned checks. This position assists both external and internal customers with inquiries related to payments including employee travel.
Under broad supervision, provides clerical support and financial processing for an assigned financial, tax or accounting related function. Prepares or analyzes data or statistics for reports, establishes or updates accounts, advises clients, prepares billing and financial reports and performs financial transactions and related bookkeeping functions for assigned area. May act as lead worker.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly activities.
- Review daily listing of invoices scheduled to pay for accuracy and backup.
- Review and help resolve issues on return checks and stale dated checks.
- Review and help resolve vouchers on AP outstanding (aging) report including vendors on hold.
- Complete vendor maintenance addition changes quickly with internal and external clients.
- Distribute payments and required documentation to vendors.
- Assist with verification of accurate 1099 classification of vendor.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED AND two (2) years of job related experience;
- One (1) year of experience at the lower level Finance Clerk 2 (FIS011) or equivalent position.
- At least 2 years of Office work experience.
- Intermediate Excel Experience.
- TeamWorks Financial/PeopleSoft experience.
