- Three (3) years of experience in working with assessment and/or accountability at the campus or District level.
- Knowledge of the policies and procedures of the Texas State Assessment Program;
- Understanding of the tasks required to plan and implement a successful state assessment program at the campus level;
- Knowledge of federal, state and local accountability systems;
- Knowledge of Gifted and Talented (G/T) and Credit-by-Exam (CBE) testing procedures;
- Understanding of basic measurement concepts associated with objective and normative testing;
- Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data;

- Coordinate with the Campus Test Coordinator at each assigned campus to develop a Campus Assessment Plan for conducting each assessment administration including activities, timelines and responsibilities based on the District-wide Assessment Plan. The Campus Assessment Plan will include, but not be limited to, the following: pre-test preparation activities, during test activities and post-test activities;
- Assist the Campus Test Coordinator in carrying out the activities in the Campus Assessment Plan so that all activities are completed within established timelines;
- To monitor the Campus Assessment Plan activities and alert the District Testing Coordinator and Senior Director for Assessment and Accountability when the plan is not being implemented as written;
- Interprets policy, procedures and data relating to assessment;
- Prepare data analysis of campus results and provide technical assistance to campuses in understanding the results;
- Conduct special data analysis, based on the District Assessment Plan that identifies strengths and needs of all children with recommendations for instructional and assessment reform;
- Conduct special data analysis, based on the District Assessment Plan, determining how the results will impact students and the various accountability systems;
- Conduct professional development and training related to assessment;
- Serves as a consultant for assessment committees on issues related to assessment (i.e. 504, special education, etc.);
- Ensures compliance of vertical learning community related to assessment;
- Assist assigned campuses with preparation, administration, and troubleshooting of online testing.
- Serves as an accountability resource for all assigned campuses;
- Interprets policy, procedures and data relating to accountability;
- Assists with campus accountability data analysis and interpretation;
- Conducts training related to accountability at the district, campus, and teacher level;
- Assists with the development and dissemination of accountability reports;
- Assumes responsibility for acquiring knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for fulfilling job duties and improving leadership skills;
- Plan and coordinate with the Campus Test Coordinator the activities necessary for conducting Credit-by-Exam testing based on District Testing Guidelines for Credit-by-Exam;
- Plan and coordinate with the Campus Assessment Coordinator the activities necessary for conducting Gifted and Talented testing based on District testing Guidelines for Gifted and Talented testing;
- Plan and coordinate any other campus-testing contingent on the approval of Senior Director.
- Improve the quality of assessment so that all campus assessments are conducted similarly and generate accurate and timely data;
- Improve understanding of the accountability system in place to ensure campus improvement and student learning;
- Institute continuous data quality measures that result in accurate data reported at the campus and District levels.
- Participates in professional development activities and training programs to maintain current knowledge of assessment policies and procedures;
- Participates in professional development activities and training programs to maintain current knowledge of accountability policies;
- Keep current through professional literature and federal/state legislation regarding student assessment and accountability;
- Seek and use evaluative feedback from subordinates and superordinates regarding performance.

Function
The Assessment & Accountability Advisor provides direct assistance to assigned campuses in ensuring that state and local accountability and assessment activities are conducted in accordance to state and local policies and procedures. Special emphasis will be placed on using the assessment results to improve the performance of all students. The Assessment & Accountability Advisor will provide direct training at the district, campus, and teacher levels for purposes of campus improvement.
