Contribute to the profitability, continuity and growth of Hollister through a focus on managing process changes, the execution of capital projects including the purchase of new equipment, and providing production support compatible with Hollister’s Mission and Vision.
Responsibilities:
Project Management
Participate in the scheduling and budgeting of global projects (cost savings, NPD, process improvement), support other engineers as assigned to meet or exceed the established timeline, budget, and key project deliverables.
Coordinate and manage process change projects through the Change Work Request (CWR) process. Work closely with Quality Engineers and Value Stream Engineers to ensure products meet established quality standards, and processes meet established regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, OSHA).
Manage capital projects using standard project management techniques. Request capital using the Authorization For Expenditure (AFE) process to purchase custom, as well as, commercially available equipment from a variety of suppliers.
Process Improvement
Conduct detailed technical evaluations to drive process development and DFx, reduce production costs through cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and automation. Provide justification based on data analysis.
Reduce potential for injury through safety guarding, safety reviews, and ergonomic considerations.
Work with mechanics to determine root cause of production problems. Develop means to reduce or eliminate root causes.
Create initial documentation (including product and tooling drawings, equipment recipes) for new manufacturing processes.
Maintenance Support
Work closely with mechanics to troubleshoot machine failures.
Support the development of Preventive Maintencance procedures on new equipment.
Reduce machine downtime and inventory carrying costs using reliability centered maintenance.
Communication
Provide periodic status updates on projects to management, project stakeholders, and production teams. This includes meetings, e-mail, teleconference, and PowerPoint presentations.
Interact with internal support groups,(Facilities, IT, Lab, NPC, etc.) and external suppliers (machine shops, equipment suppliers) in the execution of projects.
Identify, evaluate, and implement new technology into the manufacturing processes, new and existing.
Responsible for achieving competency in all identified skill requirements outlined in associated training profile for position.

Work Experience Requirements
Relevant experience specific to manufacturing or machine design - minimum of 4 years with Bachelor’s Degree
Associates Degree in engineering with at least 8 years of manufacturing or machine design experience
Education Requirements
BS in Engineering preferred
Associates Degree with applicable technical work experience required
Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:
Microsoft Office Suite
CAD Skills, utilization of 3D modeling software with ability to create drawings desired
Understand Industrial Controls and relevant software regarding Machine Controls
Experience with electro-mechanical maintenance of assembly and/or continuous process manufacturing equipment utilizing robotics, preferably in a web/film handling or converting operation desired
Heat sealing technology background a plus
Pneumatics experience desired
Ability to communicate and model coaching skills and other team-based behaviors.
