The Vice President of Information Technology (VP of IT) serves as the company’s senior technology leader, responsible for defining and executing a long-term technology vision that drives business growth, operational excellence, and innovation. This role oversees all aspects of IT infrastructure, systems architecture, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives. The VP of IT will partner closely with executive leadership to align technology strategy with business priorities, ensuring technology serves as a key enabler of company performance, scalability, and customer experience.


Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Executive Leadership

  • Develop and execute an enterprise-wide IT and digital transformation strategy aligned with company growth, customer experience, and operational efficiency goals.
  • Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing technology insights that influence business direction and investment decisions.
  • Build and lead a high-performing IT organization focused on innovation, reliability, and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a technology-forward culture that leverages data, automation, and emerging tools to improve performance and decision-making.
  • Advise the CEO, President and senior leaders on technological trends and opportunities that can enhance competitiveness and scalability.

Enterprise Architecture & Infrastructure

  • Oversee the design and evolution of the company’s technology ecosystem, ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and future-ready.
  • Lead strategic initiatives for infrastructure modernization, cloud adoption, and digital integration.
  • Ensure system resilience and uptime across all platforms supporting business-critical operations.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for infrastructure performance, cybersecurity posture, and user satisfaction.

Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance

  • Define and implement enterprise-wide cybersecurity and risk management frameworks to safeguard company data, systems, and reputation.
  • Oversee business continuity, disaster recovery, and data protection strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA, or applicable frameworks).
  • Partner with external auditors and vendors to strengthen the company’s security ecosystem.

Digital Transformation & Business Enablement

  • Champion digital innovation initiatives that streamline operations, enhance customer engagement, and enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Partner with business units to identify and implement technology solutions that drive efficiency and measurable ROI.
  • Oversee enterprise applications (CRM, ERP, HRIS, and project management systems) ensuring they meet evolving business needs.
  • Lead initiatives to integrate data analytics, automation, and AI tools that optimize business performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Vendor Management

  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Production, Finance, and HR leadership to align technology investments with company priorities.
  • Manage strategic vendor and partner relationships to ensure the company leverages best-in-class solutions.
  • Negotiate and manage technology contracts and service-level agreements.

Financial Stewardship & Resource Optimization

  • Own the IT budget and ensure strategic allocation of resources for innovation, maintenance, and growth initiatives.
  • Evaluate technology ROI and present investment cases to executive leadership.
  • Drive cost efficiencies while maintaining high standards of service and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  • Proven experience building IT strategies that support organizational growth, transformation, and innovation.
  • Demonstrated success in leading enterprise-scale infrastructure, cybersecurity, and cloud modernization efforts.
  • Strong track record of driving cross-functional collaboration and influencing executive decision-making.
  • Expertise with modern enterprise platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, VMware, ERP/CRM systems, analytics tools).

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, in office, executive-level position with standard business hours (Monday through Friday). Due to the nature of technology oversight, the VP of IT must remain accessible outside of normal business hours to address urgent system issues, outages, or business-critical needs.

  • The role requires frequent use of a computer, including extended periods of sitting and screen time
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, often with tight deadlines.
  • Occasional standing, walking, or light lifting (up to 20 lbs.)
  • Minimal travel is anticipated; however, occasional travel may be required
  • The position requires handling confidential and proprietary information with discretion and integrity.
  • High degree of accountability for technology uptime, cybersecurity posture, and system performance.
