Position Purpose:
The Manager of Logistics will lead a team of approximately 15 regional logistics coordinators, driving operational excellence in the delivery and pickup of large equipment. This role is pivotal in designing and refining scalable processes that boost productivity, expand delivery capacity, and enhance the customer experience. The manager will also oversee third-party logistics expenses and resolve customer escalations.
Key Responsibilities:
30% Operational Excellence & Process Optimization - Design and implement scalable delivery and pickup workflows. Coordinate with Rental Ops to establish and maintain SOPs for delivery operations. Collaborate cross-functionally to streamline logistics processes and improve execution. Continuously evaluate performance; make recommendations on market-level resources
30% Team Leadership & Development - Manage a team of approximately 15 regional logistics coordinators across multiple territories. Support hiring, onboarding, and training logistics personnel. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
25% Performance Management & Analytics - Monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery/pickup, driver productivity, and customer satisfaction. Track performance and identify improvement opportunities. Prepare reports and strategic insights for leadership
15% Customer Experience & Cost Control - Resolve customer escalations related to delivery issues with speed and empathy. Oversee third-party logistics expenses to ensure cost-effective operations
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
This Position typically reports to Director
This Position has approx. 15 direct reports.
Travel Requirements:
Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge and understanding of dispatch and delivery processes, especially as related to large rental equipment.
Proficiency in D365, Tableau, and Dispatch.
Experience with route optimization and capacity planning.
Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.
Minimum Education:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
Preferred Education:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
