Summary:
This position leads the Credit Union’s Strategy Team responsible for the planning and successful execution of credit union wide, strategic initiatives. The VP develops and implements improvements to ensure the Credit Union maintains a competitive role in the marketplace, reducing friction associated with internal and external processes. This includes coordinating the efforts of internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver successful outcomes according to plan, business requirements, schedule and budget. The VP has the authority to develop processes, deliverables, dynamic teams, facilitate communication and oversee delivery of corporate projects to achieve strategic change objectives.
Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in a business or technology related field.
• Master’s degree in business administration preferred.
Experience:
• 5 – 8 years of experience in the financial services industry.
• Minimum of three years managing high performing, cross functional teams
Knowledge and Skills:
• Expert knowledge of financial industry processes, products and systems, including transaction processing, online & mobile banking, customer account & loan origination and servicing.
• Working knowledge of current technologies including enterprise systems, relational databases, application programing interfaces, fintechs and cloud-based solutions.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams with internal and external stakeholders.
• Technically competent with software programs, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Management and Team Collaboration.
• Working knowledge of process mapping, data driven decision making, budgeting and cost management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead a dynamic team of dedicated project analysts, project managers and business unit subject matter experts to deliver strategic initiatives for the Credit Union.
• Facilitate communication with Program Steering Committee (Senior Leadership Team), Credit Union Managers and Board of Directors promoting the success of strategic initiatives.
• Identify internal and external process improvement opportunities which make the Credit Union faster and easier to do business with while reducing costs.
• Prioritize opportunities for Steering Committee decision through quantified estimates of time savings, costs savings or increased revenue.
• Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with Senior Leadership and business unit stakeholders.
• Provide a framework for project managers to plan, schedule and track project timelines, dependencies and milestones using appropriate tools.
• Establish corporate wide program structure that ensures consistent project management for all corporate focused projects to include, but not limited to the following:
o Direct and manage project activities from beginning to end, delegating tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel as needed.
o Identify and address issues, risks and conflicts as they arise during the project delivery cycle.
o Measure and communicate each project’s success criteria in terms of scope, schedule, budget and quality throughout the project cycle.
• Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work. Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the program.
• Identify and establish relationships with vendors to support corporate wide strategic initiatives.
• Conduct project debrief sessions in order to identify successful and unsuccessful tactics establishing best practices and tools for future projects.
• Facilitate regular stakeholder checkpoints and complete updates to the Credit Union project portfolio capturing the status of key corporate wide projects.
