ATI Advisory is seeking a Director to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of policy, strategy, and client delivery and who is motivated by the opportunity to influence how the health system serves people with complex needs.
What You’ll Do
- Drive high-quality project work for state Medicaid agencies and other Medicaid-aligned clients.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of Medicaid policy and operational principles to project work, including those related to Medicaid market intelligence, Medicaid authorities, delivery systems, payment and financing strategies, and program implementation.
- Conduct Medicaid policy research, assess state program environments, and develop practical recommendations for policy design and implementation.
- Analyze legislation, regulations, and policies (e.g., Medicare payment rules, PACE, Medicare Advantage, value-based payment, provider payment reform) and assess implications for payers, providers, and markets.
- Create polished, client-ready deliverables—compelling PowerPoint presentations, memos, reports, policy briefs, and others—with clarity, precision, and insight.
- Lead and manage multiple complex projects end-to-end, setting strategy, adhering to scope and budget, overseeing staffing, and guiding high-quality team execution
- Identify new scopes and opportunities to provide value for clients
- Manages, mentors, and coaches staff and/or project teams
- Contribute to ATI’s thought leadership, including external publications, presentations, data analysis synthesis, and commentary on policy and market trends.
What We’re Looking For
- Graduate degree preferred (public policy, public health, public administration, business, economics, or related field).
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in Medicaid programs or consulting for Medicaid programs.
- Strong research and analytic skills — both qualitative and quantitative — with a proven ability to synthesize findings into strategic recommendations.
- Ability to lead projects and teams, design and execute projects, and mentor junior team members.
- Exceptional skills in developing and delivering high-quality, client-ready deliverables.
- Comfort engaging directly with clients, including presenting findings and facilitating discussions.
- High initiative and professional maturity, with a strong sense of ownership.
Preferred Experience
- Consulting or client-service background.
- Work with large healthcare datasets (e.g., Medicare claims, Medicaid data, commercial claims, encounter data, EHR/clinical data, or CMS public use files), including cleaning, managing, and analyzing large, complex datasets
