Service Advisor Job Summary
The Service Advisor requires strong customer service skills and a broad knowledge of vehicle service requirements. Builds strong relations with customers and assist them by working with the Service Department to meet the needs of our customers. Excellent customer satisfaction and retention is a must.
Service Advisor Responsibilities
- Assists with promptly answering phone calls within three rings
- Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner
- Obtains vehicle information
- Manages service appointments and scheduling board.
- Opens RO’s, accurately and clearly completes paperwork for customer's vehicle problems.
- Maintains a complete understanding of the RO process from beginning to end.
- Checks on progress of repair throughout the shift.
- Contacts customers with any changes regarding promised time and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
- Works closely with the Service Manager, Shop Foreman, and the Parts Dept.
- Maintains high customer satisfaction standards.
- Increases customer service results by instilling excellent communication skills within the service department (effectively communicate customer complaints to the technicians, assist technicians when necessary).
- Performs daily yard checks.
- Review PM tracking system and assist in scheduling customers for service
- Review WIP report and prepare RO’s for final review and closing
- Maintain a clean and organized front counter and work environment
- Stay updated and current on new products and product updates. Participate in all applicable training programs as they become available
- Ensure employees have a safe work environment and report any safety concerns

Service Advisor Requirements
- At least 2 years’ experience in a Service Writer role in the truck or automotive field.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) required.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of automotive/truck service experience with a strong CSI history.
