Job Summary:
Seeking for a skilled and experienced CA Workload Automation DE (dSeries Edition) Upgrade Specialist to perform the upgrade of CA Workload Automation DE r12.3 to a higher version. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with both in-place and migration upgrade methods, strong troubleshooting skills, and a deep understanding of CA WA DE job configuration and scheduling. Prior experience with successful CA upgrade projects is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute the upgrade of CA Workload Automation DE (dSeries Edition) r12.3 to the latest supported version.
• Plan and implement upgrade strategies including both in-place upgrades and migration-based upgrades.
• Analyse the current environment, identify risks, and provide recommendations for best practices during the upgrade process.
• Develop upgrade documentation including detailed runbooks, rollback plans, test cases, and upgrade guides.
• Perform pre-upgrade assessments, environment readiness checks, and post-upgrade validations.
• Migrate and validate job configurations, calendars, resources, and other scheduling components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered during the upgrade process.
• Collaborate with infrastructure (application, DBA, Network teams) to ensure smooth integration and minimal downtime.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to internal team post-upgrade.
• Co-ordinate with Batch team during downtime.
• Should attend client meetings when needed.
• Flexible to work in different time zone based on client requirement (preferably in PST).________________________________________
Required Skills and Experience:
• Hands-on experience in CA Workload Automation DE (dSeries Edition).
• Proven experience in upgrading from old to higher versions of CA WA DE.
• Must be aware of AWS cloud environment.
• Must have minimum 1or 2 upgrade project experience.
• Strong understanding of both in-place and migration upgrade methodologies.
• Deep expertise in CA WA DE job configurations, including job types, dependencies, calendars, resources, articraft and event triggers.
• Experience in preparing detailed upgrade documentation, rollback plans, and troubleshooting guides.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and working knowledge of command-line tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• Must have knowledge of CA/Broadcom support tools and documentation resources.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
