ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide direction and vision for Campus Logistics employees, programs, and services that support the university mission and strategic plan.
- Manage departmental budgets for each specific organization code within this area.
- Responsible for the hiring, evaluation, and termination of all full-time employees in this area.
- Lead regular full-staff meetings as well as one-on-one meetings with direct reports.
- Manage and maintain proper inventory levels for all necessary consumable products.
- Oversees the ongoing maintenance and lifecycle management of all departmental equipment and vehicles.
- Conduct and review regular customer service surveys.
- Conduct annual editing of staff manuals, handbooks, policies, and Emergency Action Plans for all departments.
- Lead regular and ongoing staff trainings related to current industry standards as well as internal policies and procedures.
- Interacts regularly with third party vendors.
- Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for approximately 55 full time staff and 45 part time staff
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- 5-10 years in a leadership position
- Strong management and organizational skills
- Well-developed communication skills (both written and oral) are essential
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Earned or progress towards a master’s degree
- Experience with budgeting and accounting
- Experience with the Adobe suite of software
- Existing knowledge of postal regulations
- Familiarity with the various pieces of equipment related to a print shop

Physical and Sensory Abilities
- Frequently required to travel to local and campus locations.
- Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
- Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
- Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
- Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. Additionally, this position will be in other locations, such as warehouse/storage facilities, and postal facilities. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.
Driving Requirements
Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
