lemon.markets provides a Brokerage-as-a-Service platform for simple digital access to capital markets through a single API. Our API-first infrastructure makes launching an investment product customer-centric and compliant. We abstract all complexity for our partners through a well documented API, a self-service customer operations portal and operating in a clear regulatory framework. Enabling partners to launch in weeks, not months.

Your mission:
As Working student in the Back office, you will work on a selection of tasks ranging from special projects to supporting the back office with daily operations & administration - making sure our back office processes are compliant & run smoothly and efficient. The back office of lemon.markets is the backbone of lemon.markets and is identifying, measuring and assessing risks and the profitability of the company on a daily basis. These projects & tasks are vital to the business’s success and compliance with regulations and require a high degree of flexibility, diligence & organizational talent as priorities in an early stage company evolve quickly.

Your Tasks:
You will not only support the Back office on various day-to-day operational tasks & projects within Finance, Risk, and Product, but also develop processes further within the various back office functions by questioning existing processes and not shying away from breaking new ground, advocating for digitalisation & efficiency where possible.
Finance department:
support in all areas of financial accounting and e.g. create outgoing invoices, check incoming invoices and prepare the monthly financial statements
work closely with our finance team on financial planning and analysis
Risk management:
support with checking regulatory compliance and the implementation of regulations
conduct investigation of market developments & data.
You will be successful in this role if:
You are currently enrolled within a business administration or a similar finance-related degree program.
You are fluent in written and spoken German and English and bring experience in working with the Microsoft Office suite and Google programs. You feel comfortable in applying your knowledge with the different tools used on the day to day in a proficient level.
You are an entrepreneurial problem solver. You strive to take ownership of the tasks you get and apply your analytical skills, structured thinking, and independent working style towards solving them.
You have gained hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. You understand what working in a startup or a similar lean organisation is like. Ideally, you have worked in an early-stage startup, fintech, consulting, tech company or similar.
You are ready and willing to take ownership. “This is not my job!” is not part of your vocabulary - you identify problems, take initiative to take them on, and challenge the status quo.
You cope well with frequent change and ambiguity. Changing tasks & requirements excite you. You are able to think logically, break down complex problems and prioritise between multiple tasks on your table.
You have a hands-on mentality. You default into action, want to gather first learnings fast, and iterate on the progress along the way.
You are a team player. Working together as a team and sharing knowledge comes naturally to you.
You have no problem with learning new tools and skills on the go. You try to solve problems with more things than the ones you already know. We will always enable you with that, but your willingness has to come first.
