POSITION OBJECTIVE
Looking for Federal Work Study eligible students only.
Working under the supervision of the executive director of CCIR, the student assistant will be responsible for providing light administrative, marketing and communications, and website support for CCIR. The student assistant will perform activities such as supporting the CCIR membership application and onboarding process, designing and updating marketing materials, drafting and organizing information to support communications, and other administrative duties within university and school guidelines. This role may also contribute ideas and help problem-solve for efficiency in internal administrative processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Provide administrative support for CCIR executive director. Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks such as organizing information, updating documents and spreadsheets, and tracking publications.
2. Support marketing and communications, including developing slide decks and newsletters, drafting communications, and maintaining updates and recommendations for the website.
3. Support event logistics and communications. Tasks may include reserving appropriate space, assisting with catering orders and logistics, and providing on-site support during events. (Events will take place during normal business hours. The executive director and student assistant will work together to ensure no time commitment conflicts with the student assistant’s class schedule.)
NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Manage special projects as necessary.
2. Perform other duties as assigned.
CONTACTS
Department: Regular contact with CCIR executive director and faculty director, faculty, staff and students, and occasional contact with administrative personnel in the Biomedical Engineering or Radiology departments.
University: Occasional contact with university-level organizations such as the Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship, think[box], Interactive Commons, or others.
External: N/A.
Students: Occasional contact with student and trainee members of CCIR. For example, via the Trainee Council monthly meetings and Industry Speaker Series.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
No supervisory responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: 1 or more years of administrative and marketing/communications experience preferred.
Education/Licensing: Students in management or other related field preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS
1. Ability to work under limited supervision.
2. Excellent organizational aptitude.
3. Attention to detail; i.e. thorough, accurate.
4. Highly motivated, problem-solving thinker.
5. Ability to maintain confidential information.
6. Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google products, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Google sheets.
7. Positive attitude, resourcefulness, comfortable asking for guidance.
8. Interest in process improvement is a plus.
