Overview:
The Lead Bartender/Server is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring a seamless and elevated guest experience throughout The Beach Club’s dining and beverage service. This individual will serve as both an ambassador of luxury hospitality and a mentor to the service team, while maintaining the resort’s standards of excellence in presentation, professionalism, and personalized care.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Leadership & Training
- Lead daily operations of the Beach Club bar and dining areas, ensuring consistent five-star service.
- Train, coach, and inspire bartenders and servers to deliver attentive, polished, and personable hospitality.
- Support management in onboarding, mentoring, and performance feedback for team members.
- Maintain a calm, professional presence while motivating others in a fast-paced beach environment.
Bartending & Beverage Excellence
- Craft premium cocktails and curated beverages in alignment with The Beach Club’s signature standards.
- Manage bar inventory, ordering, and organization to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure proper storage, cleanliness, and presentation of all bar and service areas.
- Stay informed on current mixology trends and recommend new offerings to enhance the menu.
Service & Guest Experience
- Anticipate guest needs and personalize interactions to reflect a luxury-level experience.
- Demonstrate detailed knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including wine pairings and specialty cocktails.
- Handle member and guest feedback with grace and professionalism, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.
- Support floor operations during peak periods, special events, and private functions.
Collaboration & Operations
- Work closely with management to refine service protocols and improve guest engagement.
- Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
- Contribute to menu planning and beverage program development with creativity and insight.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of bartending and serving experience in a luxury resort, country club, or upscale dining environment.
- Demonstrated leadership or trainer experience within food and beverage service.
- In-depth knowledge of wine, spirits, mixology, and high-end service standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on member satisfaction.
- Professional appearance and demeanor befitting an exclusive club environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- TIPS or equivalent alcohol certification required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours or more per shift.
- Lift, carry, and transport items such as trays, bar stock, and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Frequently bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions related to beverage preparation and table service.
- Navigate pool decks, patios, and other uneven surfaces safely and efficiently.
- Comfortable working primarily outdoors, with exposure to sunlight, heat, humidity, and varying weather conditions.
- Maintain focus, composure, and energy during high-volume service periods and events.
- Strong communication, hearing, and visual abilities for guest interaction and situational awareness in open-air environments.
