About the Department

The Court Services Supervisor provides leadership and direction to the Court Clerk division within the Sheboygan County Clerk of Circuit Courts Office. This position oversees daily operations to ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of court records and case management processes in accordance with statutory, procedural, and judicial requirements.

Working under the direction of Sheboygan County Clerk of Courts, the supervisor guides, trains, and supports a team of skilled professionals who play a critical role in the administration of justice. The incumbent fosters a collaborative, service-oriented culture focused on professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement. By ensuring effective operations and exceptional public service, this position contributes directly to the fair, accessible, and efficient delivery of justice in Sheboygan County.

Position Duties

  • Develops, implements, and monitors office policies and procedures to ensure compliance with case management standards and statutory requirements.

  • Supervises and trains Court Clerk staff; oversees new employee onboarding and provides ongoing professional development.

  • Oversees preparation and processing of court documents including court orders, minutes, judgments, jury summons, and related filings.

  • Ensures courteous and professional public service, in compliance with Supreme Court Rule 70.41 – Assistance to Court Users.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert in judicial procedures, resolving technical and procedural issues within the division.

  • Plans and assigns daily court coverage and schedules for staff.

  • Responds to inquiries from judges, attorneys, law enforcement, and the public regarding court processes and office policies.

  • Reviews data and statistical reports to monitor compliance with case management standards and performance metrics.

  • Participates in hiring, evaluating, and disciplinary processes for division employees.

  • Performs duties of a Court Services Specialist as needed, including attending court hearings, maintaining records, and processing case dispositions.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Experience as a Court Services Specialist or equivalent within a Clerk of Circuit Courts Office preferred

  • Supervisory or leadership experience in a court or government setting strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of statutory functions, terminology, and procedures of the Clerk of Circuit Courts Office.

  • Proficiency with the Consolidated Courts Automation Program (CCAP) or equivalent case management system.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to lead, train, and motivate staff in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion.

  • Commitment to professionalism, accuracy, and service excellence.

Other Qualifications

  • Work performed primarily in an office setting within the courthouse environment.
  • Regular 40-hour workweek required.
