Purpose
IDEMIA Public Security is seeking a visionary and technically skilled Senior Software & Cloud Architect to drive the evolution of our large-scale biometric and security solutions. This strategic role involves designing secure, scalable, and future-ready architectures within cloud and software ecosystems. You will play a key role in defining the technical strategy, guiding engineering teams, and ensuring the delivery of robust, high-performance systems.
Reporting to the technical leadership team, the ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), distributed systems, and modern software design principles. With a collaborative mindset and strong sense of ownership, you will help position IDEMIA Public Security at the forefront of digital identity and public safety technologies.
As a Hardware/Chip Design Engineer, you will be the technical reference within a team of 4 engineers. You will collaborate closely with product, industrialization, and quality teams to design and deliver reliable, high-performance electronic boards for our products.
Key Missions
- Translates product needs into technical specifications
- Designs product architecture corresponding to technical specifications
- Oversees or carries out 3D and 2D drawings (for mechanical parts), schematics placement and layouts (for electronics designs
- Improves design thanks to CAD (Computer Assisted Design) simulations and emulations
- Oversees prototypes manufacturing
- Carries out integration of sub-systems, qualification and validation of hardware design
- Oversees certifications of products
- Oversees mass production manufacturing (industrialization)
- Writes technical guidance
- Carries out technological watch
- Participates to quotation for customers
- Coordinates with stakeholders to solve design and development issues
- Owns responsibility for the design and development of complex equipment, processes and full systems
- Prepares engineering studies, specifications and cost estimates,
- Acts as an internal consultant providing technical guidance on most complex projects
- Acts as technical lead
- Supervises the work of technicians and engineers
- Works in total autonomy
Profile & Other Information
Technical Skills
- Design and optimization of power circuits: LDO, DC-DC, BUCK, BOOST (POE is a plus).
- Development of analog and digital electronics: transistors, MOSFETs, ARM processors, DDR.
- Implementation and testing of communication buses: UART, I2C, USB, Ethernet, SPI.
- Work with specific interfaces: LCD (MIPI-DSI / LVDS) and camera (MIPI-CSI).
- Contribution to LED systems and EMC compliance (EN 55032 / EN 55035).
- Participation in project management, technical documentation, and training.
- Experience in PCB layout and routing follow-up (preferred).
- Experience in industrialization support (preferred).
- Familiarity with wireless and connectivity technologies: WiFi, Bluetooth, 2G/3G/4G, and RFID (preferred).
