General Description and Classification Standards
Performs semi-skilled work involving the operations, inspections, and maintenance of airport Fleet equipment. Duties may include, but are not limited to performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs within secured and unsecured areas of airport, managing Fleet service requests, training or orienting early career employees on equipment safety and operations, reporting, and operating equipment which includes tow trucks, forklifts, battery power packs and other equipment used in the daily fleet operation.
Supervision Received
Works under minimal supervision and follows standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks. May assist in Fleet equipment training, orienting, or observing early/intermediate career associate, apprentice, or semi-skilled employees in the group.

Manages and reviews vehicle service request prior to submitting them to City of Atlanta Fleet Services
Assists City of Atlanta Fleet Services with towing of disabled vehicles, arranges pick-up or dispatches operable vehicles to applicable service facility for repair; checks status of vehicle with City of Atlanta Fleet Services and communicates progress to DOA Fleet Manager; may perform post service inspections to ensure all needed repairs where completed.
Completes repairs to vehicles and equipment as directed by supervisors and managers.
Submits daily report to DOA Fleet Manager on activities of the day.
Operates and maintains equipment, including Class A trucks, forklifts, and battery power packs.
Transporting vehicles and or equipment via Class A trailers.
Decision Making
Follows standardized procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Advanced knowledge of automotive terminology, automotive repair, and maintenance.
Intermediate skill in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Words to generate vehicle maintenance reports.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, internal and external customers.
Advanced knowledge of airfield terminology, departmental operations, policies, and procedure.
Basic to intermediate skill in operation of heavy machinery, equipment, trucks, dump trucks and other motorized equipment.

Ability to efficiently complete assigned tasks within the applicable service level agreement.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience
High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). 5 years of work experience in a related area.
Preferred Education & Experience
Prior experience in the Fleet industry and/or work environment.
Completion of a 2 year technical or vocational course of study in the appropriate area and 3 years' experience in general automotive repair and collision.
(5) Five years experience with minor to major vehicle and equipment repairs.
Licensures and Certifications: Commercial Driving License (CDL A and B).
Licensures and Certifications
Valid state of Georgia CDL Class A License required or the ability to obtain within the 6-month probationary period (once enrolled in a City of Atlanta class)
