Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Technician will work closely with engineers and operators to ensure that production targets are met, equipment is running efficiently, and any issues are resolved promptly. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to maintain high-quality manufacturing standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment to ensure smooth production flow.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on machinery to minimize downtime.
- Document all work performed, including any troubleshooting or repairs completed.
- Collaborate with engineers to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
- Assemble, test, and inspect products to ensure they meet specifications.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
- Work with inventory systems to monitor stock levels and ensure timely procurement of parts.
- Provide feedback on process improvements and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to enhance operational efficiency.
- Follow ISO procedures and safety policies, including wearing appropriate PPE where required.
Qualifications:
Required Education & Experience:
- Associates degree or technical or vocational degree in a related field (e.g., Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Electronics) or specific related equivalent proven experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and quality control standards.
- Experience working on teams in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment using Lean Manufacturing methodology. Knowledge of ISO a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
- Ability to work independently and on a team to meet time sensitive deadlines
- Certification in a related technical field (e.g., CNC operations, electrical systems, or industrial maintenance).
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to read technical documentation, including blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting issues, documenting work, and interacting with team members and supervisors.
- Must have solid mathematical skills, including basic algebra, geometry, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) for data entry, documentation, and communication. Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Comfort working with machinery and potentially hazardous materials, while following all safety guidelines.
