The Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) is one of Georgia's four health agencies serving the state's growing population of over 10 million people. DCH serves as the lead agency for Medicaid, oversees the State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) and Healthcare Facility Regulation, impacting one in four Georgians.

The Department of Community Health is seeking qualified Candidates for a Program Consultant 3 with the Service and Delivery Unit of the Medical Assistance Plans Division. The Service, Delivery, and Administration unit provides administrative oversight of key Medicaid programs and services, ensuring access, compliance, quality, and program integrity. This position will report to the Performance Management Program Manager within Medical Assistant Plans, Service Delivery and Administration Division and operationalize strategic initiatives that are designed to improve health outcomes for Medicaid members. This is a hybrid position that requires in-office and remote work with the approval of your supervisor. Your days of frequency in the office can change at any time during your employment based on the business needs of the organization.
Position Duties
Under broad supervision, plans, coordinates, organizes and assesses the development and implementation of a functional program including program evaluation, and program management. Oversees, develops, and implements policy, procedures and processes. Analyzes and applies findings from complex and comprehensive research.
Job Responsibilities
- Understanding and maintains knowledge of MCO rules and regulations and specifically, Georgia’s CMO care delivery systems and processes for managing service to GA’s Medicaid beneficiaries
- Conduct analyses on CMO Performance for a subset of strategic initiatives.
- Implements and assists performance management strategies on CMO improvement initiatives
- Evaluates CMO performance data
- Ability to prioritize projects, resources and skills to meet agency needs for performance management process results timely.
- Interprets dashboards, standardized reports, and other visualization
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Prgm Consultant 2 (GSP091) or any other combination of education and professional experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the job.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with Tableau/Business Intelligence Tools
- Knowledge of and program evaluation.
- Knowledge of process improvements and data analytics
- Demonstrated ability to communicate to senior managers
