Description

Summary 

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist plays a vital role in supporting the Human Resources department by ensuring the delivery of compassionate, efficient, and compliant HR services to all caregivers at Popes Place. This position helps maintain smooth HR operations by assisting with recruitment, onboarding, Caregiver relations, and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for completing a variety of HR functions, supporting day-to-day administrative tasks, and helping ensure adherence to employment laws and internal policies. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of human resources practices and demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively engage with Caregivers across all levels of the organization, contributing to a positive and inclusive workplace culture.  

 

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions: 

  1. Oversee talent acquisition processes, including recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new Caregivers.  

  1. Maintain and update Caregiver records MS Teams 

  1. Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation processes 

  1. Assist with filing, scanning, and organizing personnel documents 

  1. Maintain Human Resources Information System (HRIS) for accurate data entry, reporting, and workforce management.  

  1. Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and manage workers' compensation claims as necessary.  

  1. Ensure caregiver files and practices comply with legal and organizational standards 

  1. Track mandatory training and certifications 

  1. Help coordinate internal training sessions and materials and track training compliance 

  1.  Collect and track HR Quality metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for performance evaluations 

  1. Respond to basic Caregiver inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and procedures 

 

 

Skills and Abilities 

  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).  

  1. Ability to adhere to professional standards of practice and provide services consistent with the mission. 

  1. Independent Judgment; ability to independently manage programs and deliver services.  

  1. Problem solving and analytical skills; ability to think critically and formulate solutions based on data and observation.  

  1. Communication and active listening; ability to communicate effectively, understand concerns, assess conditions, and explain instructions. Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly. 

  1. Emotional Stability; calm demeanor and patience.  Ability to manage emotions during emergencies and other stressful situations.  Ability to maintain a caring nature while administering resident care.  

  1. Adhere to the organization’s policies, procedures, and safety regulations. 

  1. Ability to demonstrate sensitivity and respect to community members from multiple cultures, and to individuals who experience disabilities.  

 

Work Environment 

This position is inclusive of all resident care programs of Pope’s Place. The position requires flexibility as hours of work are subject to operational needs.  

The environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and other potential hazards.  Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and follow strict guidelines to protect self and residents from infectious disease. 

 

Qualifications


Required Qualifications  

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Bachelor's Degree  
  • Must pass a State and Federal Background Check, including fingerprints 
  • Valid State Driver’s License 
  • Must maintain current vehicle insurance 
  • Proof of licensing required vaccinations   
  • Abuse Prevention Systems Sexual Abuse Awareness Training within 90 days of hire 
  • DDA Developmental Disabilities Specialty Training within 90 days of hire
