ECS is seeking a Scrum Master to work in our Fairfax, VA office.
ECS is seeking talented professionals to join our successful and growing team in building the next-generation Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Cyber data solution. The CDM Program is the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) dynamic approach to strengthening the cybersecurity of Federal networks and systems through better awareness and visibility into their security posture and cyber threats. ECS is responsible for designing, building, deploying, operating, and maintaining a complete ‘Data Services’ solution which includes the collection, normalization, visualization, and sharing of cyber data from more than 100 Federal agencies. The CDM Data Services product is an integrated suite of multiple Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) products, software configuration packages, and custom code which work together to operate as an integrated solution tailored to meet Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requirements.

Role & Responsibilities:
The SAFe Scrum Master is a servant leader and coach for an Agile team, responsible for ensuring that the team follows Agile practices and principles. The Scrum Master facilitates team events, removes impediments, and fosters an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, predictable delivery, and relentless improvement. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Facilitate Agile Events: Organize and facilitate key Agile events, including Daily Stand-ups, Iteration Planning, Iteration Reviews, and Retrospectives
- Support the Team: Assist the team in meeting their delivery goals by coaching them in self-organization and self-management
- Remove Impediments: Identify and remove impediments that hinder the team’s progress.
- Promote SAFe Practices: Educate the team on SAFe principles and practices, including Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming (XP)
- Coordinate with ART (Agile Release Train): Work closely with other Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and the Release Train Engineer (RTE) to ensure alignment and coordination across the ART
- Facilitates preparation and readiness for ART events. Assist the team in preparation for ART activities, including backlog refinement and supporting upcoming Planning Intervals
- Coordinate with other teams: Support the team’s efforts to continuously improve communications and relationships with other teams. Represent the team in the Scrum of Scrums (SoS), helping the team remain aware of opportunities to engage and improve program effectiveness
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging the team to identify and implement process enhancements
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, providing updates on team progress, risks, and dependencies
