- Ensure the safety of all assigned employees through training and enforcement of all company safety guidelines.
- Ensure 5S, Housekeeping and Workplace Organization meet NSG Standards.
- Develop, Plan and Coordinate production employee activities related to producing the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost using the PDCA approach.
- Use and review shipment schedule.
- Develops both internal and external programs to meet or exceed customer expectations through continually improving products, processes and services.
- Ensure all production KPI’s meet or exceed budgeted levels for safety; quality, thruput, downtime, and yield.
- Facilitate training for all supervised employees to understand the requirements for successfully performing their job function.
- Communicate effectively with employees at all levels to ensure matters of mutual concern are addressed and resolved.
- Understand current/potential expedites during shift.
- Staff the shift, and coordinate assignments and responsibilities to the scheduled team members.
- Pre-shift Safety Walk to advise team on items to address and current conditions.
- Green Circle Meeting- Prep/Delivery- ANY UNSAFE CONDITIONS.
- Supervise shipping dock and store room operations
- Understand priority of customers as assigned by Materials Specialist or Materials Team Leader.
- Understanding of current customer condition to ensure proper flow of standard delivery, expedite mode, critical deliveries.
- Manage the order/load flow to staging; assess time before load out and window time.
- Manager dunnage handling and customer/route specific requirements.
- Shipment Close and Communication
- Confirmation of ASN/Short Ship/Customer Contact
- Process/Operations Failure Escalation Process
Qualifications Required:
- Minimum 2-3 years recent supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED), Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but will consider experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to utilize a computer-based inventory control system and prior experience with SAP.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate to create positive work environment including team building, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Resolution of employee-related issues including mentoring and training.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Excellent customer relations and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proficient in the English language (verbal and written).
- Without assistance, must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push and/or pull objects weighing from 1 to 70 lbs.
