Senior Accountant
Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments. Apply ASC606 and company revenue recognition policies. As such, the successful candidate will be able to multi-task, work independently and have very strong customer service and computer skills. Reliability and dependability are essential. The successful candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily to meet the qualifications required to perform this job successfully. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
Update and maintain contract tracking files for contract additions and modifications to ensure proper revenue recognition
Assist in the review of customer contracts for proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and revenue recognition accounting standards.
Effectively communicates with Project Managers, regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals and any additional services related to billing
Reviews and analyzes customer invoices to ensure accuracy
Administer the company’s credit card and expense report programs
Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
Assist with the month-end close process and related financial analysis
Assist with correct application of internal controls
Prepare general ledger entries, including expense accruals
Provide monthly analysis of income statement and balance sheet accounts
Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
Develop and implement improved accounting procedures
Provide special project analyses
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
CPA
ASC606
SOX404
SAP ERP/accounting software experience
5+ years of experience in Microsoft Office with advanced competency in Microsoft Excel
Work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through to completion
Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work across multiple organizations in a fast paced environment
Preferred qualifications:
Background in data and systems analysis
Public accounting or manufacturing industry experience
Blackline software experience
