Seeking a Drafter I 

The Drafter I position provides essential support in creating and revising complex engineering documents at Siltronic, ensuring compliance with both industry and company standards. Responsibilities include producing and maintaining technical drawings such as equipment layouts, P&IDs, and architectural, structural, electrical, and piping schematics. The role also manages engineering records and technical documentation in accordance with corporate guidelines. Key decisions involve interpreting design input from engineers and applying appropriate drafting standards and policies, directly contributing to the accuracy and consistency of technical outputs across the organization.

Job Details:

  1. Develop complex plans and detailed drawings of facilities and process equipment installations translated from engineering sketches, design layouts, notes, and verbal instructions.
  2. Assist engineers with the development of complex P&IDs and piping drawings utilizing creative and advance drafting/design techniques.
  3. Prepare and maintain complete and accurate piping plans and P&ID’s of facilities systems from notes, verbal instructions, rough sketches, and field verification for engineering and maintenance purposes using the current version of AutoCAD.
  4. Prepare and maintain complete and accurate power plans, wiring diagram, one-line diagrams, and panel schedules of the site power distribution system from notes, verbal instructions, rough sketches, and field verification for engineering and maintenance purposes using the current version of AutoCAD.
  5. Develop detailed drawings of finished parts for engineering & manufacturing purposes.
  6. Effective use of CAD drawing techniques.
  7. Proficient at the use of SAP in support of engineering needs.
  8. Comply with company and industry drafting and engineering standards and policies.
  9. Make accurate math / engineering computation.
  10. Prepare and maintain valve lists, instrument lists, equipment lists, and other drawing related documentation using appropriate databases.
  11. Research and pull up drawings relevant to tasks at hand

  13. Track Drawing Revisions across concurrent projects
  14. Assign Drawing Numbers
  15. Assign Valve Numbers
  16. Assign Instrument Numbers
  17. Assign System Numbers
  18. Maintain Drawing Database
  19. Maintain notations regarding Site Specifications
  20. Shred obsolete drawings
  21. Pull drawings to make copies
  22. File drawings

Position Requirements

Requires an Associate’s or Technical degree in Drafting or demonstrate equivalent experience, along with 0–2 years of relevant drafting experience including electrical power distribution. Proficiency in the current version of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications. Proficient in drafting techniques and standards across mechanical, electrical, and facilities. Appropriate mathematical skills including geometry and unit conversions. Familiarity with machine shop practices and various engineering disciplines—such as piping, electrical, controls, HVAC, and structural/architectural.
