About The Internship 

 

 

PAE is proud to offer a Winter 2026 Building Performance Internship in partnership with the Energy Trust of Oregon. This grant-funded opportunity supports our commitment to sustainable engineering and regenerative design. As part of a cohort of interns across multiple firms, you’ll focus on MEP 2040 reporting and lead the development of a comprehensive MEP 2040 database for PAE projects. The internship culminates in a final presentation at the beginning of April.

 

 

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful sustainability initiatives while building connections with peers and professionals across the industry.

 

 

 

Program Details:

 

 

 

  • Duration: 10–12 weeks, from January 6 through March 31, 2026, with the internship concluding shortly after a final presentation in early April
  • Commitment: 10-15 hours per week, part-time, paid position
  • Experience: Learn about the building design industry from both a traditional and a uniquely PAE perspective
  • Location: PAE's Portland Office

 

 

What You’ll Do

 

 

  • Assist with CAD and Revit modeling
  • Conduct energy modeling and design calculations
  • Collect and organize project data
  • Analyze energy use intensity (EUI)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

 

What You Bring

 

 

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in architecture or engineering
  • Familiarity with buildings and/or building systems
  • Completed or enrolled in an energy modeling course
  • Passion for sustainable design and interest in MEP 2040
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Desire to work in the building design industry

 

 

What We Offer 

 

 

 

  • Hiring Base Rate: $23.00 Per Hour 
    • This position is eligible for time and a half overtime pay
