Major/Essential Functions
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring process; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff
- Preforms periodic audits of HR and payroll files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately
- Handles all payroll duties including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors and reconciles monthly payroll reports.
- Processes all new hire paperwork for the department.
- Works independently and is self deadline-driven to meet university deadlines.
- Occasionally assists in answering incoming departmental phone calls and in greeting department visitors.
- Strong language skills, use of word processing programs and other standard office software.
- Strong time management skills, ability to multi task for extended periods with high-volume workloads.
- Preforms other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Prior HR/Payroll experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the TTU ePAF System, TTU Cognos System, and the TTU Kenexa Hiring System.
