SVP, Credit Risk Manager

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Lead the analysis of high-value credit applications for consumer loans, lines of credit, and structured financial products, including in-depth reviews of borrower financials, credit histories, and collateral assessments.
  • Evaluate partner credit underwriting, consumer loan, lines of credit, and structured financial products providing oversight and identifying risks and issues.
  • Oversee due diligence of partner credit and lending activity providing oversight and identifying risks and issues as well as working with the partners on remediation.
  • Evaluate and approve creditworthiness for complex cases, incorporating advanced metrics such as stress testing, scenario analysis, and portfolio-level risk impacts.
  • Review receivables purchase of consumer credit to ensure they fit within the bank's approved credit box, including verifying eligibility criteria, collateral quality, and alignment with risk appetite guidelines.
  • Prepare detailed credit memos, risk assessments, and recommendations for senior management or credit committees, including approvals, denials, or restructurings of significant credit requests.
  • Monitor and manage ongoing credit portfolios, identifying emerging risks, delinquencies, or defaults, and recommending proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure underwriting practices comply with federal regulations (e.g., FCRA, TILA), internal policies, and evolving industry standards, while contributing to policy updates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including relationship managers, legal, compliance, and executive leadership, to resolve intricate credit challenges and optimize processes.
  • Leverage advanced credit scoring models, financial analytics tools, and industry benchmarks to drive efficient and informed decision-making.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives, such as risk appetite refinement and regulatory audits, to enhance the bank's overall credit risk management framework.

  • None

Working Conditions

  • Typical office environment. Minimal physical effort required, normally seated with freedom of movement on a regular basis. The incumbent will be expected to be able to work Monday through Friday and work will mainly be performed at the Maitland location; occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Flexibility with work location and hours may be granted if circumstances permit.

Travel

  • Must be willing to travel to various locations for partner due diligence if needed.

Qualifications Summary

Education

  • Bachelor�s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree, CFA, or Credit Risk Certification (e.g., CRC) preferred.

Experience

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in credit underwriting, with a focus on consumer lending in a banking or financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing receivables and collateral evaluations within consumer credit portfolios.
  • Proven leadership experience, including mentoring teams and handling high-stakes credit decisions.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in complex financial modeling, data interpretation, and risk forecasting.
  • Expertise in credit analysis software and advanced Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the capacity to manage high-priority tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for conveying complex credit insights to stakeholders and leading team discussions.
  • In-depth knowledge of banking regulations, with a strong ethical commitment to compliance and risk management.
  • Leadership qualities, including the ability to guide teams, influence decisions, and drive continuous improvement.
