POSITION TITLE: Vice President of Business Innovation

REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer (part of Senior Leadership Team)

Result Statement:

This position is responsible for producing the following results:

The Vice President (VP) of Business Solutions provides senior leadership over EMBREY’s technologydriven

operational strategy, ensuring alignment between digital initiatives, workflows, and business

objectives. This includes (1) identifying, optimizing, and implementing innovative solutions, (2)

overseeing enterprise platforms, business applications, and infrastructure, (3) advancing AI and

automation, and (4) embedding cybersecurity best practices to enhance efficiency, scalability, and

organizational performance.

Strategic Work:

  • Lead the strategic direction for EMBREY’s operational workflow innovation and digital transformation.
  • Develop and present the Annual Strategic Technology Plan and Budget for Executive Leadership Team (ELT) approval.
  • Participate as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and Strategy Team.
  • Align enterprise and application platforms with EMBREY’s strategic goals through systems thinking; ensuring interoperability, purposeful data flows, and operational clarity across all divisions, including Investments, Development, Construction, EMBREY Management Services (EMS), and Corporate teams.
  • Lead the development of an innovation-driven technology ecosystem by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies, automating workflows, and continuously optimizing systems to support company-wide performance and growth.
  • Promote a security-first culture by collaborating across business units to identify and close gaps in cybersecurity governance, infrastructure, and vendor practices, ensuring organizational resilience and compliance with industry frameworks.
  • Identify strategic opportunities for insourcing or outsourcing workflows.
  • Evaluate and recommend field-related technologies to support Construction and Management operations.
  • Manage and oversee relationships with third-party technology vendors, including international partners, ensuring alignment with EMBREY’s strategic goals, cybersecurity standards, and operational expectations.
  • Assess and connect emerging communication technologies, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, investor platforms, and marketing automation tools, ensuring strategic fit and measurable business impact.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across EMBREY’s operational and digital landscape.

Tactical Work:

  • Lead and grow a team of 3–8 technology professionals, providing direction, support, and development as the team evolves.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of technology implementation, from vendor evaluation and selection to adoption and training, ensuring alignment with operational goals.
  • Manage relationships with third-party service providers, including vendors such as Centre Tech and Quisitive, while overseeing contracts, billing, and performance standards.
  • Maintain and support all corporate and field technology infrastructure, including hardware (e.g., computers, tablets, conference systems), software platforms, and data/telecom contracts. This is supported by third-party providers.
  • Integrate new processes and platforms into EMBREY’s technology ecosystem (e.g., Yardi, Procore), ensuring seamless transitions and operational continuity during system implementations.
  • Identify and execute workflow efficiency improvements through automation, centralization, and platform optimization.
  • Lead organizational cybersecurity practices by deploying technical safeguards (e.g., security controls aligned with NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 requirements), ensuring secure system configurations, monitoring, and audit readiness across cloud and on-site infrastructure.
  • Promote a security-first culture by working with compliance, legal, and business leaders to evaluate and mitigate cybersecurity risks across governance, policy, and infrastructure.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • MBA or related advanced degree preferred.


Skills:

  • Proven leadership, communication, and strategic execution skills with the ability to drive cross-functional alignment and innovation.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise platforms such as Yardi, Procore, and other operational technologies.
  • Experience implementing and scaling emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), PropTech, and automation tools.
  • Strong command of cybersecurity governance, including application of frameworks such as NIST and SOC 2, to assess risk, implement safeguards, and ensure enterprise resilience and compliance.
  • Skilled in managing third-party vendors and technology partnerships, including contract oversight, security evaluations, and alignment with organizational standards.
  • Demonstrated excellence in enterprise project leadership, from strategy through implementation, with a focus on performance, efficiency, and business value.


Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • While professional cybersecurity certifications are not required for the Vice President, the individual is expected to possess a strong working knowledge of the principles, frameworks, and standards covered by the certifications listed below. The VP must be capable of overseeing internal sta􀆯 and external vendors who hold these credentials, ensuring their work aligns with EMBREY’s security strategy, architecture, compliance obligations, and operational risk management.


Relevant industry certifications include:

  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional): Industry gold standard for cybersecurity leadership, security architecture, and governance.
  • CISM (Certified Information Security Manager): Focuses on managing risk, aligning security programs with business goals, and ensuring compliance.
  • CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional): Specializes in securing cloud environments and enforcing cloud governance best practices.
