Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment for individuals with mental health and/or substance abuse issues.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and provide counseling to individuals, families and/or groups.
- Collaborate with Primary Care Providers (PCPs) and other health care professionals to coordinate treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely client records and documents.
- Travel to various clinic locations.
- Be able to spend significant amounts of time sitting upright while consulting with patients and others.
- Be flexible with occasional exposure to various weather conditions on the Palouse and make commute plans accordingly.
Job Requirements
Required Education
Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field.
Required Licenses and/or Certifications
A valid clinical license (LCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMFT) to practice in the state of Idaho
Required Work experience
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in individual and group therapy
Experience in crisis intervention
Knowledge of best practices for treating behavioral health conditions
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Ability to provide individual, family, and group counseling including applying current evidence-based practices and techniques in psychotherapeutic treatment, including brief solution focused treatment.
- Proficiency in documentation and reporting.
- Managing behavioral crises, conducting psychosocial assessments, developing care plans and providing brief therapeutic treatment.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and providing consultations to medical providers.
- Certified, or willing to complete certification within first 60 days of employment, to complete and monitor the Child and Adolescent Needs Assessment (CANS).
- Demonstrate effective time management to organize work, establish priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility in situations involving change or implementation of new procedures with positive disposition.
- Interpret, adapt, and apply treatment protocols/guidelines and procedures.
- Maintain professional behavior with all levels of colleagues, staff, patients and the public,.
- Work as a member of a team, in a consultative role with primary care providers.
- Computer literacy, including ability to input information, retrieve patient information, manage scheduling, and locate information and resources in an electronic health record and on the Internet.

- Lifting/carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Occasional climbing of stairs to other levels of the building.
- Stooping/kneeling/crouching to access supplies.
- Frequent reaching/handling/fingering to complete paperwork, use the phone, and type on a computers keyboard or adding machine.
