Description
The IT Systems & Automation Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining the security, stability, and efficiency of ViralHog’s technology systems while driving automation and internal development initiatives. This part-time, hybrid role splits responsibilities between providing technical support to staff and contributing to the development and optimization of internal tools and web platforms.
This is an in-office position based in Bozeman, Montana, and requires the employee to reside within a reasonable commuting distance.
Requirements
- Provide front-line IT support to staff, resolving issues ranging from routine troubleshooting to complex system incidents.
- Deploy, configure, and manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) policies and enrolled devices.
- Monitor and enforce email security standards, implement compliance rules, and respond to potential threats.
- Conduct internal security audits, generate compliance and risk reports, and escalate findings as appropriate.
- Maintain user account access and permissions across platforms, applications, and services.
- Manage firewall operations, including VPN connectivity, failover configurations, and traffic monitoring.
- Track and manage IT deadlines, priorities, and deliverables to align with organizational goals.
- Triage, document, and resolve IT inquiries submitted via ticketing systems, email, or phone within established SLAs.
- Develop and maintain IT documentation, including standard operating procedures and an internal knowledge base.
- Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of internal applications, tools, and web platforms (primarily in PHP).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for automating processes and optimizing workflows.
- Develop scripts, integrations, or utilities to streamline IT operations and business workflows.
- Maintain code quality and documentation for internal projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Two-year degree in computer science, IT, software development, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in IT support in a service-driven role.
- Proficiency with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress/PHP; additional frameworks a plus).
- Familiarity with Google Workspace administration and Google Credential Provider for Windows (GCPW).
- Knowledge of Windows-based systems (Windows 10/11), Azure, SharePoint, and related Microsoft server environments.
- Working knowledge of networking, firewalls, VPN, and IT security standards.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to balance priorities across IT and development responsibilities.
